Seguros Bilbao celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao by sponsoring the "Immersions" event

"More than 53,500 people attended the light and sound event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the \nemblematic Bilbao museum."

"Immersions," the spectacular projection-mapping event with light and sound organised by the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and sponsored by Seguros Bilbao, a company of Grupo Catalana Occidente, comes to an end with an audience of thousands of spectators: a total of 53,547 people visited the 3D projection show designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Museum.

The impressive public art intervention, created by the British studio 59 Productions, was staged from 3 to 11 December 2022, and traced the history of the city and the Museum. The event took place in the heart of the building, the soaring glass atrium, a diaphanous space that connects the interior and exterior of the building, and was used as a vast canvas for the bespoke projection-mapping event.

In the words of the CEO of Seguros Bilbao, Javier Maiztegui, "as Patrons of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao since its opening in 1997, we are proud to offer citizens this sensory and immersive event as a demonstration of our commitment to Bilbao's citizens and the city's emblematic museum."

Maiztegui also celebrated the anniversary of the historic museum with the desire to "continue to celebrate together unique events and activities with the museum as a backdrop, thus making it an important attraction in the international artistic scene".

Juan Ignacio Vidarte, general manager of the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, thanked the insurance company for its support since its inception and stressed the importance of the collaborative culture of organisations and their promotion of culture. "Seguros Bilbao has been a key entity in the history and evolution of the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, and it is thanks to collaborations such as yours that we can bring art and culture to all members of society," he said.

Seguros Bilbao renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao at the beginning of this year for a further five years. Thanks to this agreement, the insurance company was able to highlight its commitment to art and culture and remember the visionary commitment it made 25 years ago as a Museum Patron.

Over the last few decades, the company has participated in various activities and exhibitions, including the sponsorship of Joanna Vasconcelos's successful exhibition in 2018, "I am your mirror" (Soy tu espejo), or that dedicated to Lee Krasner in 2020.
