Environment

GCO is actively committed to protecting and conserving the environment, promoting a culture of sustainable development and the efficient use of resources, managing and measuring the environmental impact of our operations, and protecting natural assets for future generations.

These commitments are set out in the Climate Change and Environment Policy, through which we define and promote the guiding principles of our action in environmental matters.

Environmental management

GCO is committed to continuous improvement in its environmental performance and to the prevention of pollution. We actively seek to promote a culture of sustainable development and the efficient use of resources among all our stakeholders, and are committed to managing and measuring the impact of our operations on the environment. To improve our environmental performance we have implemented an environmental management system that complies with the ISO 14001 standard, covering all the processes for managing the Group's main real estate assets. This enables us to understand, control and prevent environmental impacts in an orderly and planned manner, and to enhance environmental efficiency and performance.

Natural Capital

Within the framework of our contribution to the preservation of ecosystems, GCO forms part of Nactiva Capital Natural S.L., a collective platform for investment in projects dedicated to the protection and regeneration of natural capital in the Mediterranean area. We are currently participating in the MedForest 360 programme, a project aimed at the protection, conservation, management and regeneration of Mediterranean forests. We also work with Tree-Nation to implement the In Arboriam project, where we plant a tree for each funeral service we carry out, in honour of the deceased and to promote reforestation globally. In addition, our employees are actively involved in voluntary work to care for our planet, taking part in environmental cleaning and waste collection projects in different countries.
