Occident renews its commitment to Bilbao Basket club

"The insurer has extended its sponsorship with the company for two more years and has strengthened its agreement with Fundación Bilbao Basket to promote sports in the Basque Country"

Occident has once again reinforced its collaboration with the Bilbao Basket sports club, which forms part of the ACB League, renewing its agreement as an official sponsor of the team for two further seasons. Thus, the insurer is maintaining the commitment that its predecessor Seguros Bilbao had with the club for the eleventh consecutive year, since 2012.

As part of the agreement, Occident will have a brand presence with its logo in the free-throw area lighting on the club's home court, the Bilbao Arena. It will also appear on the static fence signage around the court, on the press conference screen, and on the club's website and social media.

The insurer has also renewed its collaboration with Fundación Bilbao Basket. The company will also be present as the main sponsor in the 'Campus Bilbao Basket-Occident' which takes place over Easter, summer and Christmas, with the aim of promoting basketball among youngsters.

In the words of the president of Bilbao Basket, Isabel Iturbe, “we are delighted to continue for another year with Occident, as its support helps us to address the challenges we face as a professional team”. Likewise, Juan Closa, managing director of Occident, pointed out that “at Occident we are proud of the solid relationship we have with Bilbao Basket, and we wish to continue collaborating with the historic club to show our support for basketball at all levels”.  

Occident is committed to sport

Since its inception, Occident has considered the world of sport as a key component in its sponsorship strategy. The company has thus demonstrated its support for sports by collaborating in numerous events, such as the International Cycling Event for all Occident Bilbao-Bilbao and the Conde de Godó Tennis Trophy. In this regard, it has also positioned itself alongside entities that promote the values that sport transmits, such as the Bilbao Basket, the Bera-Bera Handball Club, and the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona - 1899.
