AM Best has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent) of Grupo Catalana Occidente's main operating entities

The rating agency A.M. Best has affirmed the Long-Term Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of a+ (excellent), to the main operating entities of Grupo Catalana Occidente in traditional business (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao) and also in credit insurance, where it operates through the Atradius brand.

AM Best highlighted the balance sheet strength and the appropriate enterprise risk management, as well as its adequate operating performance.

With regard to the credit insurance business, AM Best said its ratings reflect the balance sheet strength, its operating and commercial performance and its appropriate enterprise risk management. The ratings agency also took into account Atradius' good liquidity ratio and prudent investment strategy, as well as its high quality and well-diversified reinsurance panel.

Financial strength of the insurance group  

Grupo Catalana Occidente has superior financial strength and creditworthiness. Last February, Grupo Catalana Occidente also received Moody's credit rating for its main operating entities, which were assigned a Long-Term A2 rating. This rating reflects Atradius' conservative balance sheet and its strong liquidity ratio, as well as its excellent enterprise risk management throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
