Catalana Occidente Group signs a collaboration agreement with the Observatory of European Systems of Complementary Social Pension Plans

"The agreement is framed within the insurance group's interest in tackling the challenges related to longevity and the need for long-term savings"

The Catalana Occidente Group has signed a collaboration agreement with the Observatory of European Systems of Complementary Social Pension Plans. The purpose of this body is to research and disseminate the different complementary social pension plans in Europe, as well as to analyse their possible reforms.

With this agreement, both entities commit to working together, in addition to generating knowledge synergies and studying the factors that affect current systems, seeking improvements and new value proposals.

The project represents another step in the insurance group's commitment to conveying to society the importance of planning for longevity and showing the benefits the insurance sector can offer in this field, as well as in the protection and well-being of the elderly population.

The CEO of the Catalana Occidente Group's traditional business, Juan Closa, highlighted that "the insurance sector must face the challenges that longevity poses to society in relation to pensions, dependency and people's health". In this regard, the chief executive was adamant that "the research activities of the Observatory of European Systems of Complementary Social Pension Plans will encourage the debate already under way regarding the reform of pension systems in most European countries".

For his part, the director of the Observatory of European Systems of Complementary Social Pension Plans, Dr. Francisco Javier Varea, commented that "we are very grateful to the Catalana Occidente Group for having supported us from the beginning. The Group has been an essential player for promoting the project and has already facilitated us holding some of the key activities on our agenda, such as the Online Debate Series, which are sessions in which experts from different disciplines discuss subjects related to Complementary Social Pension Plans in the Welfare State".
