Occident, the new brand of Seguros Catalana Occidente, renews its agreement with the Professional Association of Insurance Intermediaries of Valencia

"As a result, Occident, the brand that will unite the traditional business of GCO (Grupo Catalana Occidente), reaffirms its commitment to the regional association to contribute to its professional development."

Occident, the new brand of Seguros Catalana Occidente (SCO), and the Professional Association of Insurance Intermediaries of Valencia, reaffirm their collaboration by renewing their agreement following the positive results obtained in the previous protocols. Occident thus reinforces its commitment to the commercial development of this group and strengthens the role of the broker in the Valencian Community.

The renewal was signed by Jorge Benítez, chairman of the Association of Valencia, and Juan Miguel Gómez, director of the Levante Branch of Intermediaries of SCO, soon to be Occident. During the signing, Benítez emphasised the importance of the agreement, noting "the excellent state of relations between the two entities and the fruitful results obtained to date". For his part, Gómez described this agreement as an opportunity to "provide intermediaries with the tools they need to carry out their work".

A meeting was then held involving Vicente Gil and Javier González, Commercial Supervisors of SCO, together with María José Francés, the institution's technical secretary, to share the most relevant trends in the insurance sector and to explore the association's outlook for next year.

At the end of February, Occident, the new brand of Seguros Catalana Occidente

(GCO) announced the merging of its traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand, Occident. This merger is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, foreseeably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
