Grupo Catalana Occidente’s asset management company awarded at the European Funds Trophy 2021

Grupo Catalana Occidente’s asset management company GCO Gestión de Activos has been awarded at the European Funds Trophy 2021. Specifically, it has won in the 8 to 15 rated fund category.

These awards, which this year are in their 15th edition, recognise excellence in asset management and are awarded by the independent fund rating agency Fundclass in collaboration with five European news organisations: Le Temps, LCI and Le Monde (France), La Stampa (Italy), Tageblatt (Luxembourg) and El País (Spain).

The winners of the European Funds Trophy are divided into eight different categories according to the number of rated funds and their country of registration. This classification uses Fundclass quantitative ranking to obtain an objective analysis in terms of both the risk and the performance of the fund, which helps to determine those management companies that regularly outperform their competitors.

In the words of Elena Nadal, Deputy Director General and Director of Investment at Grupo Catalana Occidente, this award is “recognition of all the effort and hard work of the entire team at GCO Gestión de Activos” during a particularly complicated year. In this regard, Nadal stressed that for GCO Gestión de Activos “the long-term vision and a good balance between risks assumed and performance expectations that companies and sector provide at all times” is essential.

GCO Gestión de Activos closed 2020 with €330 million worth of managed funds and offers a diversified range of fixed, variable or multi-asset investment funds, allowing it to offer its customers products that are completely adapted to their profiles, according to the risk they want to assume, their savings objectives or their investment capacity.
