"The sports company will use to the space, more than 2,300 m2, to open its flagship store in the city of Barcelona"

Grupo Catalana Occidente has signed a lease agreement with Adidas for the commercial premises in the Palau Pasqual i Pons building, located at number 2-4 on Paseo de Gracia (Barcelona). The multinational sportswear manufacturer will use the space to open its flagship store in the city.

The German firm will have more than 2,300 m2 for its new flagship store, making it one of the largest Adidas stores in Spain. The Head of Real Estate in southern Europe, Juan Pablo Abión, indicated that the company plans to turn this new space into one of its benchmark outlets in Europe. It is scheduled to open in the first half of 2022.

Advising on the deal was aRetail, a real estate consultancy specialising in the sale and rental of commercial premises, and involves the opening of a new street store in Barcelona's retail prime hotspot.

Palau Pasqual i Pons is a modernist building designed by the architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia in 1890. Grupo Catalana Occidente undertook a refurbishment project in 2017, investing 35 million euros. The aim was to transform this property into one of the best offices and business spaces in the city with open and flexible floors; cutting-edge equipment and high energy efficiency. The total area of the property exceeds 9,300 m2, and the refurbishment project is scheduled to be completed in the first few months of next year.

"The refurbishment of the Palau Pascual i Pons demonstrates the commitment of Grupo Catalana Occidente to conserving its real estate, and its long-term management strategy and vision," remarked the Head of Real Estate at Grupo Catalana Occidente, Óscar Andel.
