Grupo Catalana Occidente supports the charity concert GO UP Madrid, organized by the Starlite Foundation

"The insurance group was, once again, beside people, sponsoring a charity event where, through music, tribute was paid to the victims of Covid-19"

Grupo Catalana Occidente, the official sponsor of the Starlite Catalana Occidente Festival, yesterday offered its support to the charity concert GO UP Madrid, organized by the Starlite Foundation coinciding with the celebration of World Music Day. The aim of the event was to pay tribute to all the victims of Covid-19, to raise funds to fight this disease, and to help and encourage society through music and culture.

"In recent months we have experienced difficult moments, but we have also seen how numerous organizations and companies have strived to contribute and help to stop Covid-19. Solidarity is one of the great values that have been highlighted in this crisis. That is why, with our support for the GO UP concert, we remain committed to looking after people when they need it most in an initiative that unites music and solidarity", explained the Director of Innovation, Marketing and Development of Grupo Catalana Occidente, María José Álvarez.

Solidarity project

Well-known artists from Spain, such as Ainhoa Arteta, José Mercé, David Bustamante, Chenoa and Marta Sánchez, among others, performed on the highest stage in the country, located in the Torre de Cristal in Madrid. The funds raised will go to the Starlite Foundation to fight against Covid-19.

Viewers were able to watch the concert via streaming, doing their bit by buying a "commemorative ticket" signed by the artists of the project; buying official merchandise such as masks, t-shirts and bracelets; or by making a donation.

Commitment to society

Grupo Catalana Occidente has launched various measures designed to fight against Covid-19 at a social level. Through Fundación Jesús Serra. a donation was made to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), with the aim of driving research into a future vaccine.

It has also contributed 2.27 million euros to the solidarity fund to protect the lives of healthcare workers who fight against Covid-19 and is collaborating with Save the Children to care for families who have been left more vulnerable by the current situation.

The Group has also come together with other firms to promote the launch of 'Beat the Vid', an innovation platform that seeks to unite efforts within the healthcare ecosystem to respond to the current challenges caused by the emergency arising from Covid-19, as well as future challenges.
