Occident, the new brand of NorteHispana Seguros, sponsors the basketball club L'Horta de Godella

Occident, the new brand of NorteHispana Seguros, has become the official sponsor of the basketball club L'Horta de Godella (Valencia). This partnership showcases the company's commitment to local sport and fosters the intrinsic values associated with basketball.

The Occident brand will be present on the sports kit, in the Godella municipal pavilion, the club's creative activities and the events the organisation participates in at the local level. NorteHispana will also give its name to the club's junior women's team, which will now be called NorteHispana Godella.

In the words of Flora García de la Vega, commercial director of NorteHispana Seguros, "since our beginnings we have encouraged the practice of sport in society, because as an insurer we fully identify with the values that sport conveys, such as effort, self-improvement and teamwork".

The club's chairman, Damián Grau Expósito, thanked NorteHispana Seguros, soon to be Occident, for their support. "The backing of brands such as Occident will enable us to consolidate the first team in the LEB PLATA League competition", he stated.

Occident, the new brand of NorteHispana Seguros

In 2023, GCO announced the merging of its traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand, by the name of Occident. This merger is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process contains two phases: firstly, Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao have already merged under the Occident brand, and have been operating as such since 1 January. In a second phase, at the end of this year, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
