Occident, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros renews its commitment to the Association of Insurance Mediators of Granada

"Both organisations have renewed their collaboration agreement for a further year in a bid to strengthen the insurance mediation market."

Occident, the new company of Plus Ultra Seguros, and the Association of Insurance Brokers of the Balearic Islands have renewed their collaboration agreement in a bid to strengthen the standing of insurance brokers and promote their activities in Granada. Thus, the new brand that will join companies from the GCO (Grupo Catalan Occidente) traditional business sector, will strengthen their commitment with the commercial development of the brokers' association.

With this agreement, both entities will promote the insurer's participation in events carried out by the Association in support of the mediator network, which reaffirms the high esteem in which the company holds it.

The agreement was signed at the Association's facilities and was attended by the Plus Ultra Seguros Regional Director of Brokers in eastern Andalusia and Murcia, Alberto Bartolomé; the Manager of the Plus Ultra Seguros (Occident) in Granada, Raúl Molina; the President of the Association of Certified Mediators of Granada, Genaro Sánchez, and the Association's Vice President, Laura Molero.

During the meeting, Bartolomé emphasised that Occident maintains a clear and firm commitment to insurance mediation in Granada, as it is a key group in its business model. "Agents and brokers know our products and customers best," said Bartolomé, "so we will continue to prioritise the development of this group, and establish a closer relationship with them." Sánchez also thanked "the continued support for he Association by Occident, with a view to strengthening the training of mediators, improving their skills and offering better customer service".

Occidente, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros

At the end of February, the traditional business companies of GCOccidente (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) merged under a single brand, Occident. This union is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, predictably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
