Occident and Movistar Prosegur Alarmas join forces to offer security services for homes and businesses

Occident has entered into a partnership with Movistar Prosegur Alarmas aimed at enhancing the protection and security of its customers' homes and businesses throughout Spain. As a result of this collaboration, Occident will incorporate a new security service in its home, commercial and office insurance policies. This solution, which is optional, comprises a set of alarm devices and security services designed to maximise protection both inside and outside your home or place of business.

This partnership, driven by the high demand for protection detected in the Spanish residential and corporate market, reflects a scenario of potential growth in which, with almost three million alarms connected and an annual growth rate of 10%, Spain is now ranked fourth in the world in terms of the number of installed security devices, just behind the United States, China and Japan.

The main new feature of this partnership is that customers who take out Occident home insurance together with the security service will receive cover for jewellery stored outside a safe with an insured capital of up to €2,500 at no extra cost. As regards the security service for businesses, Occident's business and office insurance policies offer extended cover for damage due to theft at no extra cost. Furthermore, the service installation fee is free until 31 August.

Another advantage of the service is that the alarm devices are made available to customers on a lease basis. Movistar Prosegur Alarmas offers a free replacement service for devices that stop working or become technologically obsolete and the possibility of reinstalling the service in a new home or business premises if the user moves.

This is the first step in a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies to explore together the development of new products and services to enhance the safety and security of their customers.

Types of Home and Business Alarms

There are two contract options for the home security service: Home Essential Alarm and Home Protection Alarm. Both alarm options guarantee the security of your home against burglary, robbery and squatting. The Home Protection Alarm features an enhanced technological component, including a higher number of detectors with cameras, a 360º mobile camera with video analytics and flood and smoke detectors designed to anticipate and prevent major damages and losses.

For businesses, the Business Protection Alarm option includes detectors with and without cameras and an IP camera with 7-day recording.

The 3 alarm options are backed by Movistar Prosegur's service quality, including on-demand video verification, device maintenance, a dedicated management and control app, and 1 ContiGo user account (out-of-home protection service that provides immediate assistance in the event of danger). In addition, Occident customers will receive a discounted installation fee.
