"Occident sends its condolences and support to all those affected and their families as a result of the extraordinary event. The insurance company has started up a special service to enhance assistance and care for the victims of storm DANA, especially in the Valencian Community, Andalusia, Albacete and Cuenca."
Occident has started up a special service to enhance attention and care for those affected by storm DANA that has hit several areas of Spain, especially the Valencian Community, Andalusia and the provinces of Albacete and Cuenca. Torrential rain and hail have caused human losses, as well as heavy flooding and other effects in recent hours.
The Valencian Community has been the most affected area, accumulating more than 400 litres per square metre that have caused flooding with serious personal injury and material damage. It is considered an extraordinary phenomenon, most of the risks of which will be covered by the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros [Insurance Compensation Fund] (CCS).
The CCS is a public body that is financed by a small amount included in the price of any insurance policy and which is deposited in a guarantee fund destined to cover extraordinary risks among all insured persons in Spain.
Those affected by this type of phenomena can file their insurance claim through the CCS website: www.consorseguros.es or by calling this freephone number: 900 222 665.
Occident has also stepped up its services to communicate with the CCS on behalf of its insured customers and also answer any queries related to storm DANA via the freephone number 900 110 200.
Occident's insured customers can also count on the personalised advice of their broker, who will provide assistance in all the procedures related to the impact caused by this meteorological phenomenon.
At the same time, Occident has reinforced its network of insurance appraisers to assess the damage caused by the storm in the affected areas and has made its network of professionals available to the CCS to speed up the service offered to those affected.
