Occident celebrates its traditional annual lunch bringing together 400 retired employees

"The insurer thanks and recognises the contribution of its retired employees with this annual get-together that has been held for more than 60 years"

Occident has celebrated its traditional annual lunch for retired employees in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona, bringing together nearly 400 people over two moving days of appreciation and recognition. This event, which has already been firmly established as a tradition in the company for more than 60 years, is intended as a thank you for retired employees for their years of dedication and contribution to the company.

The Barcelona event, which was held at the iconic Gran Meliá Torre Melina last Friday, gathered more than 300 people, while the event in Madrid, which took place on 24 April at the emblematic Hotel Wellington, brought together nearly 100 attendees.

During the meal, the company's former employees were able to enjoy a carefully selected menu in the two evenings, which included the attendance of representatives from the insurer's top management. José María Serra, chairman of GCO, and Pedro Ribes, director of Human Resources, expressed their gratitude to the retirees, recognising their contribution to the company during their years of service.

"Our retired employees are a fundamental part of the history and success of Occident. This event is a small token of our appreciation for all their devotion and commitment over the years," Serra said. “Thanks to their dedication and hard work, today we are a leading insurance group that is turning 160 years old,” he added. Ribes also stressed, "their legacy is an inspiration to the present and future generations of our company."

The annual lunch is not only a time of celebration, but also an opportunity to strengthen the bonds between the company and its former employees, promoting a sense of belonging that has always been vital to the company's corporate culture.
