Occident incorporates new features that round out its Your digital health service

"Customers can now have immediate video consultations with a general practitioner who can issue medical reports, prescribe tests and generate electronic prescriptions"

In an effort to improve the customer experience and facilitate access to quick and efficient medical care, Occident has expanded its Your digital health service with new features.

Specifically, insured persons who have the Salud healthcare, Salud mixed reimbursement, Salud Prime reimbursement or Salud hospitalisation benefit policies will get access to our new feature - immediate video consultations with a general practitioner - without having to travel or make an appointment and without a copayment. This service allows the medical professional to issue medical reports, prescribe tests and generate electronic prescriptions, providing faster and more effective medical care to customers.

In addition, the coverage abroad of Your digital health has been extended with the addition of 13 new countries. As a result, customers can now use Your digital health in key destinations in South America such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, among others. This improvement guarantees that Occident policyholders get access to digital medical care while travelling for work or personal reasons, reinforcing the healthcare of Occident where their customers need it.

According to the Director of Life Products at Occident, Daniel Ciprés: “These innovations were added in response to requests forwarded by our network of agents and by our policyholders to promote and facilitate the use of the service. This way, Your digital health continues to grow in keeping with our commitment to offer innovative and comfortable health solutions for our customers”.

Your digital health

Occident integrates the above features to its range of digital healthcare services to streamline the process for its insured parties and allow them to access all the services of the medical pool in a simple and effective way. Through the Your digital health platform, policyholders have a medical chat and a video consultation service with appointment with specialists in various areas, such as general medicine, paediatrics, nutrition, dermatology, gynaecology, endocrinology and psychology.

In addition, through this tool, insured parties can access their medical reports and electronic prescriptions, consult the medical pool of nearly 50,000 professionals and a wide selection of first-rate hospitals, request referrals for medical consultations and tests, manage the reimbursement of medical treatments and medicines, and more. Customers can also use the virtual Health Insurance Card in the app, which allows them to identify themselves immediately in the associated medical centres without having to carry the physical card.

With regard to the use of the digital assistance, 79% of the consultations received in the medical chat are for general medicine and 21% for matters related to emergencies. As for the video consultations offered by Your digital health, they have become one of our most highly rated features, with a score of 9.86 from customers, with the most requested being psychology (38%), general medicine (23%) and nutrition and diet (18%).

Right to be forgotten for cancer survivors

Occident has endorsed the Unespa Guide to Good Practices on cancer survivors' right to be forgotten for insurance policies taken out before 30 June 2023.

This endorsement, as a self-regulatory measure of the sector, reaffirms Occident's commitment to ensure that cancer survivors do not suffer discrimination compared to other consumers. In addition, Occident will apply this right to be forgotten in those policies taken out before this regulation went into effect. Thanks to this Guide, cancer survivors will be treated in the same conditions when taking out a life or health insurance policy as someone who has not had this illness.
