"Fundación Jesús Serra and the Maria Canals International Music Competition, in collaboration with the Cultural area of Palma City Council, is bringing the initiative to the Mallorcan capital on 5 May, filling the city centre with seven grand pianos. "

Your city is full of pianos”, an initiative by Fundación Jesús Serra, of Grupo Catalana Occidente (GCO) and the Maria Canals International Music Competition is crossing the sea for the first time, to the Balearic Islands. On this occasion, Palma is the chosen capital to host the initiative that brings playing the piano closer to all citizens.

On Friday 5 May, from 10 am until 8 pm, people walking around the centre of Palma can enjoy this cultural initiative, where there will be seven grand pianos distributed on a circuit to discover some of the most emblematic areas of the city. Carrer del Mirador, Passeig des Born, Plaça de Cort and La Rambla are just some of the iconic locations chosen for the pianos.

"Your city is full of pianos" offers professional musicians, schools, music conservatory students, children and music lovers, seven pianos so that anyone who wants to can play or simply enjoy listening to other budding musicians perform. Each piano will be presided over by students of the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears. Piano fans can also enjoy the use of a concert grand piano, usually only played in large auditoriums, which will exceptionally be made available to the public for one day to play and enjoy.

The seven pianos will be placed in the following locations in Palma:

1.- Carrer del Mirador

2.- S ́hort del Rei-Escultura Calder

3.- Passeig des Born

4.- Plaça de Cort

5.- Plaça del Mercat

6.- La Rambla

7.- Plaça de la Madre de Deu de la Salut (Sant Miquel Church)

It should be noted that the Palma Municipal School of Music will take the opportunity to carry out the "Pianada" activity, in which more than 50 students will participate. It will take place in the Plaça de Cort at 5 pm.
