The pianos return to the cultural heart of Madrid with "Your city is full of pianos

"Fundación Jesús Serra and the Maria Canals International Competition, in collaboration with the Association of business owners of Barrio de las Letras, bring back their initiative to the capital on Friday 22 September with 10 grand pianos. "

Your city is full of pianos”, an initiative by Fundación Jesús Serra, belonging to GCO (Grupo Catalana Occidente), and the Maria Canals International Music Competition, brings back to Madrid the joy of playing the piano to the people. All passers-by will be able to enjoy music at 10 outdoor locations on Friday 22 September from 11:00 to 20:00.

The pianos return to Madrid, to the main squares and streets of the most cultural neighbourhood in Madrid, thanks to the collaboration of the Association of business owners of the neighbourhood Barrio de las Letras. Plaza Murillo, Plaza de Platerías, Plaza de la Villa or Plaza de Santa Ana will be some of the squares where one can enjoy this initiative, which aims to bring the universal practice of music to all.

Professional musicians, school centres, conservatoire students, children and amateurs will have 10 pianos -two of them grand pianos- to play and make Madrid once again the capital of live music.

The 10 pianos will be placed in the following locations in Madrid:

1. Plaza Murillo (next to Royal Gate of the Botanical Garden)

2. Plaza de Platerías

3. Plaza Juan Goytisolo (next to the Royal Music Conservatory)

4. Casa Museo Lope de Vega (in Calle Cervantes)

5. Plaza de Santa Ana (next to the statue of Lorca)
