Plus Ultra Seguros, which will soon become Occident, renews its commitment to the Professional Insurance Brokers Association of Valencia

"Both organisations have extended their agreement to promote brokerage for a further year and organise activities to increase the expertise of these professionals. "

Plus Ultra Seguros and the Professional Insurance Brokers Association of Valencia have renewed their collaboration agreement in a bid to strengthen the standing of insurance mediators across the province. Thus, the insurer, which will soon be unified with the other traditional business companies of GCO (Grupo Catalana Occidente) under the new brand Occident, will carry out joint actions with the Association to enable these professionals to increase their knowledge and improve the services they offer to their customers.

The agreement was signed at the Association's offices and was attended by the Director of the Eastern-Southern region of Plus Ultra Seguros, soon to be Occident, Julio Pérez; the Commercial Development director of the Eastern-Southern region of Plus Ultra Seguros, Álvaro Soriano; and the President of the Professional Insurance Brokers Association of Valencia, Jorge Benítez.

Peréz emphasised that "mediation is one of the pillars of Plus Ultra Seguros' business model, as it is an essential group for offering its customers customised products and services that best suit their needs, in a professional and local way".

For his part, Benítez thanked Plus Ultra Seguros for its involvement in mediation and highlighted that "its support is beneficial to our associates, and also for the sector's development".

Occident, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros

At the end of February, GCO announced the merging of its traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand, Occident. This merger is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, predictably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
