Plus Ultra Seguros receives a Juan Palau Award for its commitment to adaptive sport

"The company has ratified its support for adaptive sport by sponsoring the 'Safe and Healthy Sports' day."

Plus Ultra Seguros has been awarded the Juan Palau Award of the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF), awarded to best sponsor company in the 2020 edition. The award recognises the company's efforts to accompany and promote activities, organisations and athletes with physical disabilities.

These awards, which were presented on 5 December in Madrid, are organised by the FEDDF, and over the past years have valued the commitment of companies, institutions, media and different personalities to adapted sport.

In this regard, Plus Ultra Seguros has been a sponsor of the basketball Copa del Rey tournament in this speciality since 2016, and sponsored the European Championship for the same sport in 2017. For the past three years, it has also collaborated with the FEDDF's 'Safe and Healthy Sports' day.

For Pablo Sampedro, director of the agency network, institutions and marketing of Plus Ultra Seguros, who collected the award, "continuing to commit to initiatives that represent values such as effort, inclusion and self-improvement is a source of pride for the company". He also stated that "at Plus Ultra Seguros, we want to thank the FEDDF for its recognition, as it encourages us to continue working along this line".

Support for the 'Safe and Healthy Sports' day

Furthermore, Plus Ultra Seguros sponsored the FEDDF's 'Safe and Healthy Sports' day for the third year in a row, which took place on 7 December in the Barajas Municipal Sports Centre (Madrid). This initiative seeks to use sport to demonstrate the barriers that disabled people face and their integration into society.

During the event, different adaptive sports, such as basketball, volleyball or slalom skiing, were held throughout the day, with the joint participation of people with and without disabilities. The organisation emphasised that all activities should be inclusive, fun and enjoyable, whilst highlighting the positive aspects of moderate, functional and team exercise. The event also demonstrated the importance of physical exercise as a tool for self-protection and improving health.

In this regard, the company maintains its support for initiatives that, in addition to strengthening the values associated with sport, also raise awareness, provide visibility and promote social inclusion.
