Plus Ultra Seguros, soon to become Occident, renews its commitment to the Professional Association of Insurance Mediators of the Region of Murcia

Plus Ultra Seguros, a company of GCO (Grupo Catalana Occidente), and the Professional Association of Insurance Mediators of the Region of Murcia have renewed their collaboration agreement in a bid to strengthen the standing of insurance mediators and promote their activities in the region. Thus, the insurer, which is soon to be merged with the other GCO traditional business companies under the Occident brand, strengthens its commitment with the commercial development of this group.

The agreement also promotes the insurer's participation in events carried out by the Association in support of the mediator network, which reaffirms the high esteem in which the company holds it.

The agreement was signed at the Association's offices and was attended by the Plus Ultra Seguros Regional Director of Brokers in eastern Andalusia and Murcia, Alberto Bartolomé; and the President of the Professional Insurance Brokers Association of Murcia, Javier Zapata.

Bartolomé underlined that the insurer would continue with its clear and committed focus on insurance mediation in Murcia, as it is an "important group for providing our customers with personal and professional service, offering them the products and services that best suit their needs."

For his part, Zapata showed appreciation for the "ongoing support the Association has had from Plus Ultra Seguros, a leading company that is committed to mediation and seeks the constant development of the sector. This renewal makes it possible to strengthen the development of brokers, improve their capabilities and, thus, offer a better service to customers."

Occident, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros

At the end of February, GCO announced the merging of its traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand, Occident. This merger is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, predictably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
