Plus Ultra Seguros, which will soon become Occident, renews its commitment to the Toledo Association of Certified Insurance Mediators

"Both organisations have renewed their partnership in a bid to strengthen the profile of insurance brokers in the area."

Plus Ultra Seguros, a company of Grupo Catalana Occidente, has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Toledo Association of Certified Insurance Mediators with the aim of promoting the insurance sector and reinforcing the profile of insurance brokers in the area. As part of the agreement, the insurer will also take part in events and activities organised by the Association, in order to lend support to the sector.

In addition, as part of the agreement, Plus Ultra Seguros, which will soon become Occident, will install a plaque with its logo in the facilities of the Association, the brand will be mentioned the association's website, and it will use its premises for a venue for conferences and seminars.

The agreement was signed at the Association's headquarters and was attended by David Gil, Territory Manager of Centro Sur Corredores de Plus Ultra Seguros, and the President of the Toledo Association of Certified Insurance Mediators, José Enrique García Mérida. Vicente Moreno, Toledo branch manager of Plus Ultra Seguros, also took part.

During the meeting, David Gil emphasised the important role played by insurance mediation in the insurers business model and added that “thanks to this type of agreement, and institutions such as the Toledo Association of Certified Insurance Mediators, Plus Ultra Seguros can provide these professionals with the tools required to offer our customers the best possible service”.

In the words of José Enrique García Mérida, "this partnership reflects the firm commitment of both Occident, the future brand of Plus Ultra Seguros, and our institution to offer excellent service in the sector, based on the promotion and strengthening of insurance mediation activity in the Toledo region."

Occident, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros

At the end of February, GCO announced the merging of its traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand, Occident. This merger is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, predictably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
