Occident's AutoPresto workshops renew their sustainability certification from Centro Zaragoza for the third year in a row

"This means the network of 452 workshops is leading sustainability in the vehicle repair sector"

The AutoPresto workshop network has renewed for the third year running the respected "CZ Sustainable Workshop Network" certification awarded by Centro Zaragoza. This recognition underscores Occident's commitment to sustainability through AutoPresto by confirming that it operates to the highest environmental care, continuous improvement and climate neutrality standards. The renewal bolsters AutoPresto's standing as the first workshop network in Spain to earn and retain this certification, cementing its leadership in the sector.

Centro Zaragoza has set up a certification scheme which enables repair workshops to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. The system assesses the workshops' level of commitment by drawing on an index which measures key aspects of their environmental impact including waste management, energy consumption and resource reuse. Additionally, the scheme encourages follow-up of improvement plans put in place by the workshops with the goal of minimising their environmental footprint.

The certification further looks at sustainable processes such as repairing components using environmentally-friendly methods and promoting renewable energies. Likewise, Centro Zaragoza has also evaluated practices including using ecological products, adopting efficient tools and processes which lessen environmental impact and rolling out maintenance plans for the equipment most closely involved in generating emissions.

Continuous improvement: a tangible commitment

Since earning this certification in 2022, AutoPresto has taken specific actions to enhance its sustainable performance. These efforts are reflected in Centro Zaragoza's annual assessment which reveals steady growth in the network's sustainability index.

Antonio Gutiérrez, Occident's Director of Partner and Loss Adjuster Networks, said: "We not only offer quality service but also the peace of mind that repairs made in AutoPresto workshops meet the highest sustainability standards. From component repair to efficient waste management, we strive to minimise our environmental impact and build a more sustainable future for the sector."

Carlos Arregui, General Manager of Centro Zaragoza, noted: "The renewal of this certification demonstrates AutoPresto's efforts to achieve a business model that is responsible in terms of environmental sustainability. At Centro Zaragoza, we appreciate their investment in driving environmentally-friendly practices in the vehicle repair sector."

An expanding sustainable network

AutoPresto's growth also supports its environmental commitment. Over the last two years, the network has expanded its reach from 380 workshops in 2022 to 452 in 2024, representing an increase of 70 workshops and covering 97% of Spain. This ensures that most of Occident's customers can access a nearby workshop delivering sustainable, quality service.

The renewal of this certification enhances Occident's commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.
