Seguros Catalana Occidente is committed to safety and gifts its car insurance customers the installation of an automated emergency call device

"The insurer will install up to 15,000 automated devices that have various safety enhancing features"

Seguros Catalana Occidente has launched a campaign to gift its customers an on-board device that incorporates an automated emergency call system, and will also install it free of charge. With this initiative, which is integrated into the e-car Emergency service, the company demonstrates its commitment to safety and accident prevention at the wheel.

Among the features of this device is eCall, an automatic emergency calling system (AECD) that allows for a significant reduction in the response time of emergency services, as the vehicle contacts them directly in the event of a collision.

It also facilitates the location of the accident and sends preliminary information on it, all of which is intended to enable the emergency services to know its magnitude and prepare assistance. This automated process is very relevant in cases where the driver and the other occupants are unable to make a call or notification.

Given the advantages offered by this road safety system, Seguros Catalana Occidente is offering a total of 15,000 devices to customers who renew their car insurance. The company will install the device at the customer's chosen location, which is a very simple process. All completely free of charge. The device and its installation are valued at more than €150.

Furthermore, for greater convenience, this device is managed from a mobile app that provides access to more features such as travel assistance, called bCall . This technology allows the driver to request assistance during their journey to resolve any queries or, for example, request a towing service, quickly and easily.

Another feature is CarFinder, which informs the user only about the exact location of the vehicle in real time via the app. This is a very useful feature in the event of theft or if the driver does not remember where they parked the car.

Director of Car Insurance at Seguros Catalana Occidente, Rafael Moyano, stressed that "the safety and prevention of our policyholders and their families on the road is paramount for the company. For this reason, we offer them all the services that bring peace of mind and confidence at the wheel." And, he added that "the technology that this device incorporates is a great ally in reducing the response times of emergency services, which can save lives."
