The Fundación Jesús Serra Inclusive Spanish Alpine Skiing Cup is back

"The competition, in which sportspeople with and without disabilities participate, will start on Saturday 21 January in Baqueira Beret and will end on Sunday 26 March at the Formigal ski resort."

The Fundación Jesús Serra Inclusive Spanish Alpine Skiing Cup, the only adaptive alpine ski circuit in Spain open to sportspeople with and without disabilities has returned for another year.

The championship is organised by Fundación Jesús Serra, of Grupo Catalana Occidente, in collaboration with the Centre for Adaptive Winter Sports (CDIA), the Spanish Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF) and the Spanish Federation for Persons with Cerebral Paralysis and Acquired Brain Injury (FEDPC) and the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind (FEDC).

The Spanish Cup was created to develop an integrated competition that is a national reference and to promote the coexistence of sportspeople with and without disabilities, seeking standardisation through sport and raising awareness on the relevance of sport in the normalisation of disabilities, whether they are physical, intellectual or sensory.

To achieve this, the Cup focuses on the participation of all the adaptive sport categories and the U10 and U12 and Master categories for sportspeople without disabilities, with the aim of obtaining a state level competition to give visibility to the inclusion and standardisation of winter sports.

The three stops of the Spanish Cup this year are: 

• Baqueira Beret (Lleida): 21 and 22 January
• Sierra Nevada (Granada): 25 and 26 February
• Formigal (Huesca): 24-26 March

Sportspeople with RFEDI licences can register through the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation, while those interested in participating and who have licences from the sports federations for persons with disabilities can do so through the corresponding federation.

The price of registration is €15 for each day of the race.
