The Palau Pascual i Pons building, owned by Grupo Catalana Occidente, has reached 100% occupancy

"With the inauguration of the flagship store by the sports firm Adidas, the office building owned by the insurance group in the centre of Barcelona has reached full occupancy in its more than 16,300 m2 of space. "

The modernist building Pascual i Pons, located on the emblematic Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona, owned by Grupo Catalana Occidente, already has all its business premises and offices leased. After the opening of the Adidas flagship store, the insurance group completed a comprehensive renovation process that began in 2017 and converted the building by architect Enric Sagnier into a commercial and business landmark for the City of Barcelona.

Over the past five years, Grupo Catalana Occidente has invested a total of €40 million in the renovation project, whose work has focused on preserving the architectural heritage and preparing the spaces and facilities for the future. After the renovation, the building holds the LEED Gold Energy Efficiency certification and state-of-the-art technological equipment has also been installed to improve the value proposal and experience of tenants, as well as third-party companies that wish to rent the spaces available for meetings and events. The lessees include companies such as Apple and the French Chamber of Commerce, who have chosen Palau Pascual i Pons to establish their branches and innovation centres.

In addition to offices and business premises, the property offers meeting rooms on the main floor of the building with a view of Paseo de Gracia and Ronda de Sant Pere, and common spaces that include a terrace with a view of Plaza Cataluña, which can be reserved by external companies wishing to rent the spaces. The completely soundproofed meeting rooms are equipped with all the tools necessary for hosting all types of events, and they also boast the equipment for projecting videos, holding video conferences as well as simultaneous interpretation.

In September 2021, the car park in Calle Caspe was completed, with 95 spaces for use by tenants and visitors. The car park is enabled to accommodate electric and hybrid cars and has several charging points for these types of vehicles. There is also a car park for bicycles and scooters.

Preservation of architectural heritage

The building's main floor, with a view over Paseo de Gracia and Ronda de Sant Pere, has concentrated the work of preserving floors and glass windows, stained glass windows depicting figurative scenes, ceilings, fireplaces with refined sculptural carpentry and the original main staircase made of carved wood. In this regard, the furniture has also been preserved. Furthermore, a stone banister stands out on the facade of the main floor, adorned with different ornamental motifs, and windows with pointed arches that highlight the aesthetics of the property.

The spacious terrace with views of Plaza Cataluña features a pair of preserved towers complete with fish scale tiles.

For the Property Director of Grupo Catalana Occidente, Óscar Andel, "the complete occupation of Palau Pascual i Pons not only shows the historic attraction of the property and its location on the main shopping street in Barcelona, but also highlights the restoration work that has been carried out, to turn the property into one of the best office and business spaces in the city with open plan and flexible floors; state-or-the art equipment and high energy efficiency."
