The Fundación Jesús Serra and the Adapted Winter Sports Centre re-launch the inclusive Spanish Alpine ski cup

"This year, the third year of the cup, will include the new inclusion of three national competitions to be held between January and March at Baqueira Beret, Formigal and Sierra Nevada stations. "

Grupo Catalana Occidente's Fundación Jesús Serra and the Adapted Winter Sports Centre (CDIA) have presented the new circuit of the Fundación Jesús Serra Cup – Spain's inclusive Alpine skiing cup, which this year holds its third edition across three Spanish ski resorts. The competition will kick off in Baqueira Beret on 29 and 30 January, and will then be held in Formigal on 26 and 27 February and in Sierra Nevada on 26 and 27 March.

The tournament format allows athletes with and without disabilities to participate in the same competition and route, achieving real inclusion in winter sports. The three Spanish Cups will be held in categories U10, U12 and Master in athletes without disabilities and in the stand and chair modalities for athletes with disabilities.

The same specialities will be held at the three ski resorts: Giant Slalom and Slalom, and the route and regulations will be adapted according to each category. The competitions are also suitable for the circuits of the Spanish Adapted Ski Cup, the Spanish Inclusive Cup FEDDF-FEDPC-RFEDI and the Spanish RFEDI Masters Cup.

The Managing Director of Fundación Jesús Serra, Ignacio Gallardo-Bravo, commented that "for the company this competition represents a firm step forward in achieving the social inclusion objectives we promote, in this case through sport. Park of the backbone of what we do is to preserve the principle of equal opportunities, and this circuit is the true reflection of this. "

Meanwhile, the director of the Adapted Winter Sports Centre (CDIA), Andrés Gómez, highlighted "the work we carry out together with Grupo Catalana Occidente's foundation to promote winter sports for all, with and without disabilities, in a competition that contributes to their normalisation, whether physical, intellectual or sensory. "

The championship is co-organised by the Royal Federation of Spanish Winter Sports (RFEDI), the Spanish Federation of Sports of People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF) and the Spanish Federation of People with Cerebral Paralysis and Acquired Brain Injury (FEDPC).
